A song proceeds from the heavens
A melody rings forth;
We hear the sound
We believe the story
Now we stand
This is the gospel
The good news which saved us
We have not believed in vain
Neither have we forgotten
For our Christ rose from the dead
And so the story goes
To do away with our sins He came
Our Lord bore the sentence
He was led to the slaughter
One sacrifice for all
A beautiful exchange
To bring us home
Down in the grave
He stormed the pits of darkness
To seize the keys once lost
To undo the deeds of Adam
Yes, Christ once died for all
He payed the ultimate price
His blood was shed
The spotless lamb slain
For being born in Adam,
We were condemned & doomed to die
Nothing of ourselves could save us
But alas! We are now redeemed by the blood
Hence there is now, no more condemnation
We stand righteous
We stand perfect
We stand whole
We stand complete
This is the good news- the gospel
Our Word, which holds the world in wonder
Our peculiar story that makes us one of a kind
Our history which comes alive each time the story is told
That our Lord died, was buried and He rose again.
